Item #3 - Beware The Tooting Common Rats

I served an LDS mission in England. That statement alone is enough to fulfill the requirement of the tag - it's something that some of you don't know, but I must share more. I lived for several months in a district of London called Tooting. I know, its funny, at least when I use my adolescent boy humor. Well, in England, they have large open parks that are called commons - like a common area for the neighborhood to enjoy. So, we had Tooting Common. A problem in Tooting was rodents. I think they were everywhere. I would lay in my bed at night and listen to them scurrying around in the walls and ceiling. At the particular time that I was in Tooting they had a big problem with big rats. So signs began to appear in Tooting Common "Beware the Tooting Common Rats!" Now this is kind of scary and not funny at all, especially when Tooting Common was just down the street from your abode. But think about it - what if you were just a tourist or visitor and didn't know you were in Tooting and didn't know that the park was called a common - what would you make of a sign that read "Beware the Tooting Common Rats?"

Nice! "Tooting Common Rats" is a sign I would have taken a picture of as a tourist. You crack me up.
